Siteta

Siteta arose from the Xhosa word “Sithetha”, which means we speak.  It was a mouthful for the locals in the UK – the h’s were never silent, so we took them out.  Siteta has a nice ring to it.

This blog originated when in 2008, we began to plan our move back to South Africa.  Clear and useful information about visas, banks, insurance, broadband, web site registration and business beginnings were in limited supply. We began to collect through our experiences and a great deal of research, helpful information about moving home.

Our philosophy is based on the idea of learning by talking – that we save so much time by communicating – sharing ideas, contacts and information.  Talking links each individual to another.  It helps businesses grow and keeps the good guys going.  It takes some of the stress out of planning. It’s about community: spreading insights and sharing knowledge (especially amongst entrepreneurial circles, where the positive “talking” energy is felt strongly).

Siteta is a blog for positive thinkers and talkers – it hopes to help you plan your move to South Africa or if you’re resident here already, to provide you with new insights and hopefully a little bit of inspiration.

We want to hear about your own experiences and ideas, so that others can benefit from your learning.
