Please tell me what 'conversion rate optimisation' is ?
Firstly, lets define conversion rate.
Your conversion rate is easily found using the following formula :
# of Conversions ÷ by # of Visitors x 100Which means if your website, for example, has
- 4 conversions
- from 231 visitors,
- your conversion rate is 1.73%.
So of all the visitors to your website, 1.73% of them are converting on your website.
So, optimising your conversion rate is done by looking at your page and changing elements (e.g. messaging, text, images and buttons) to best tailor the visitors to your site.
What then is a good 'conversion rate' ?
Very tough question and it will vary depending on quite a few parameters, but mainly your conversion rate depends on what products (or services) you are selling. The price of your products are also crucial as it may be easier selling a cheaper product than an expensive one.
How you are getting your traffic will also matter; whether you are spending money on PPC (Pay Per Click) campaigns or whether you get traffic thrugh natural search results.
But we'll stick our neck out here and say a conversion rate of 1-2% for natural search traffic is pretty much the stick in the sand. If you are running designated landing pages for keywords through PPC you should be aiming for, at least, a conversion rate of 4-6%. If you are below these number you’ll need to look at your website (or get someone, hem-hem, to ).
Is Conversion Rate Optimising really worth the effort?
Our favorite question. So anyone; "hands up if you are in business to earn money". You should be and conversion rate optimising is likely to be the cheapest and quickest way to help you increase your earnings from your website.
Siteta proudly hold a 100% record of increasing conversion rates on the websites we have worked with.
Excellent- so surely this must be expensive?
No, not at all. We are happy giving you a one off quote for the work we do, which will be evaluated on a per-website basis.
We are also very happy to work on a ‘no increase no pay’ policy where our fee is based on the percentage increase our changes give you. If there is no increase, there is no cost to you, but if there is an increase in conversion we both benefit.
Keep in mind we have a 100% record :-)
