What is website usability ?
Website Usability is a key aspect of user experience and when best explained should answer the question: ‘Is the user able to accomplish their goal?’ User experience is the bigger picture: looking at the experience a user has while interacting with your website.
How does Siteta do usability ?
We will look to see if your website is putting the important elements in the right places. Is your site presenting content in a clear and concise way, giving correct choices to users in a very obvious way with no ambiguity regarding consequences of actions?
This involves looking at your websites' business objectives. How can these can be met? Does it meet your visitors' expectations with regards to how they think your website should work?
We use various tools and approaches to achieve the best results; it will generally start with a cup of coffee and discussion with you about the goals you have for the website and who your typical client is.
Putting ideas to paper
Then we’ll go to the office drawing board and flesh out some ideas that we’ll bounce off each other. Often it will lead to us going out and seeking the opinion of the ‘man on the street’ representing your target group. We will start a dialogue with them and see how they complete a few tasks on your website and get their general feedback on what works and what doesn‘t on your website.
Finally we’ll move on to a preliminary design and set up some tests on your website with real users to get confidence (from tracking their movements). Then we'll tweak various elements until we’re all happy with a final design.
